Ho, ho, niet gelijk natuurlijk. Eerst even voorstellen, een drankje, een praatje over de definitie van echte liefde, nog een drankje, een luisterend oor dichtbij een vertellende mond, het wisselen van wat veelbetekende blikken, nog een kleine dosis ‘playing hard to get’ en daarna pompiedom samen naar huis. Althans zo stel ik me dat zo voor als ik de blikken van de vrouwen in de kroeg inschat. Want zo zijn de vrouwen, nietwaar. Altijd op zoek naar een stukje avontuur.
En met dat beeld in mijn achterzak stap ik op een van die vrouwen af en zeg: ‘Ik zag dat je naar me keek. Hoi ik ben dus Dirk Jan’ (niet een sterke openingszin maar in het licht van de vorige alinea, best wel logisch.
Wat schetst mijn verbazing: ‘Uuh, nee ik keek niet naar jou, maar naar de klok achter jou. Het is tijd om naar huis te gaan.’
Even denk ik nog dat ze het drankje, de definitie van echte liefde, luisterend oor enz enz overslaat en direct to the point komt, maar nadat ze langs me heen loopt, haar jas aantrekt en zonder omkijken de deur van de kroeg achter haar dichtslaat, begint bij mij het gevoel te bekruipen dat ik het wel eens een beetje mis kon hebben.
Ik kom wel eens in de kroeg en dan zie ik een paar vrouwen naar mij kijken en dan denk ik: ‘Lekker laten kijken. Ik ga zo naar huis.’
